may i ask, what is the relation between this "grummz" and this vn?
Grummz is Mark Kern, an ex-Blizzard dev who worked on Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft and by some accounts, was a bit of a racist cunt. After getting laid off, he has worked on many well-known projects such as Firefall, an Oculus VR MMO and Em-8er, which the keen-eyed reader will notice are all crowdfunded vapourware. You gotta make a living somehow and grifting is a job like any other [citation needed].
He is also an extremely unpleasant person on Xitter, one of the leading voices in the art of sucking even more money from angry young males of the "anti-woke" variety. When he's not bitching about how characters in big games aren't hot enough, white enough or straight enough, he's... probably sleeping, as that's all he ever does.
This VN is a jab at his current videogame which is totally in development and not a grift, Em-8er. Cummz went "fine, I'll do it myself" and did what Grummz will never do: actually release a working game named Em-8er. Grummz has since whined that Cummz is infringing on his copyright and attempted to take the game down on Steam, which will probably prove to be a challenge since he didn't actually copyright anything. Can you blame him though (yes, you absolutely can)? It's not like he ever thought the game would see the light of day.
tl;dr: he´s a clown and this game is clowning on him.
