Just an amazing landmark in heavy music history. Nobody sounded like entombed. The crazy tuning and the amazing effects of the Boss Hm-2 and Ds-1 together make that deep cutting buzzsaw sounds that we all love and know so well now. It's still among the heaviest albums I can only imagine how ppl reacted upon first release. Clandestine is equally an amazing album though a shame that petrov left for the album. The production on clandestine isnt quite what it was on left hand path but still a great album. I didnt follow them into their death n roll transformation but im thankful for the first 2 albums.
@@fuzzo4475 True, I just think Gateways is a really cool evolution of their sound from Immortal Rites to Covenant to all that lies between, they are the only band that can sound modern and interesting I’m almost any era of their music. I think their very new stuff is a little lamer especially ‘that album’ but overall as a whole their evolution from the late 80’s to the early to mid 2000’s is so interesting to me.
Love this song, I was fortunate to be able to see them live with Morbid Angel, and Unleashed @ The Abyss in Houston Texas when I was in highschool. Awesome kickass show....
2:00 It was right here that on the school bus ride to high school one morning that I lost all control headbanging. They had to stop the bus because they thought I was having a seizure lol
REAL DEAL. Has to go into contention for one of the heaviest, most brutal and crunchy riffs of all time. (Intro to the breakdown also has an awesome down-slide, c. 1'50).
T00BR00TAL4YOU No, I mean it the way I said it. I'm fully aware that Entombed came first. The problem with your statement is that this is the only album where Entombed sounded like a crust punk band, hence why I said 'Sounds a lot more like a Wolfbrigade song than Entombed'. Learn how to read a comment before you try to correct someone on it. You'll look a lot more intelligent than you do right now.
TwistedMrGrimm Maybe figure out how to properly phrase a comment instead of rambling and trying to defend your comment. This came first. Just like you wouldn't say that B.B. King sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan because obviously B.B. came first, same with this.
T00BR00TAL4YOU The illustrated point of my comment is that this particular song and album (and *only* this particular song and album) have a similar sound to the majority of ones that Wolfbrigade have done. Saying I didn't 'properly phrase' my comment just because you didn't agree with it (or worse, didn't understand what I was saying to begin with) is about as infantile as it gets. But whatever. It's not like this was ever a worthwhile thing to argue about anyway. I'm over it.

One of the best albums of Death Metal history.
Endlessly murderous
@@Rhapsodies_In_Red yes it indeed is, brutal
One of the best albums in music history.
Probably the best!
As the time passes, it still has me coming back for more
That main riff is so violent, mostly on that B tunning. That riff is one of the most loud riff ever in metal
Combined with those drums it's so sick
probably my favourite Entombed song, untouchable riffs

As I continue with laughter
I drink the bowel’s rheum
Squeezing my hand through it’s mouth and further
Through it’s stomach to it’s womb
Of it’s once called body
There seems nothing to be left

Dismember sounded alot like Entombed, or visa versa, as they came out around the same time.
I’d say Like An Everflowing Stream has better production, but both albums have really good production
It inspired so many VSTs that are used for guitars nowadays....Perfect guitar tone.
I was originally not a fan of death metal but this album and Morbid Angel’s Covenant have changed my mind
Have you listened to gateways of annihilation?
@Dödispää Absolutely. The new stuff is alright... But you can't beat the classics.

They're great live.
The best headbanging song.
The punk influence is strong with this one
Yesss, d beat-like drumming and crusty riffing, love it when its in form of Entombed since they carry traditional death metal sound
Rest in peace, LG Petrov. You helped putting Swedish death metal on the world map.
OMG so much time since the 1st time I heard this track.... And this song still kicks ass... And this Riff!
right bro, song is so damn good

This almost sounds like a crust punk, d-beat song. Reminds me of something Doom would make.
Was definitely thinking the same thing. Sounds a lot more like a Wolfbrigade song than Entombed, especially with the guitar sound.
TwistedMrGrimm You mean Wolfbrigade sounds like Entombed. Considering this came out before Wolfbrigade even existed so...
